I don’t think that I can even begin to explain how busy my life has been lately! My goodness, it’s only a month into school and I already need a vacation so badly! Everyone told me that law school would be tough, and it is definitely living up to its reputation. As September draws to an end, it takes with it the last remnants of the summer. Mornings are crisper, days are shorter, and multi-colored leaves are already beginning to pile up on the grass.
I decided that the cooler weather meant that it was time to invest in some cozier footware. I ran to the mall, visions of comfy boots vivid in my mind. I’ve been wearing Uggs for many years now and decided that I wanted to replace them with something just a tad more visually pleasing. My first thought was to buy a pair of mukluks – I’ve been eyeing them for a couple of years now and would have rocked them last year, had I not ended up with two different shoes which I ended up returning.
I actually had to make a run of several different stores before I found mukluks that I liked. Originally, I thought I would get a color like grey or brown. However, the contrast between the fur and the boots just looked a bit awkward to me and I really couldn’t find any beading designs that I liked. Finally, I made my way into Capezio and was immediately drawn to a pair of black boots with brown beading. Once I tried them on, I found that the black fur looked a lot cleaner and tidier than the other boots that I tried on, and I loved the beading design. I found my boots!
I was so excited after buying these that I actually ended up running to Town Shoes and buying a cute little pair of furry brown moccasins to wear on days that were too warm for my mukluks, but too cool for my fur-less moccasins from American Eagle.
Along with my well-worn, super comfy, AE moccasins, I’ve accumulated a nice little collection of Native American-inspired shoesies! It looks like this is going to be my own fashion inspiration this fall. What’s yours?
